Conservation and Protection Division

Conservation and protection Department was established in 1990. Since 1990 this department carried out several basic types of research in various fields, including harmful arthropods, plants and useful microorganisms in forests and pastures. The important aims of this department are maintaining sustainable equilibrium and biodiversity in the range of forests and rangelands in Iran. The group has put forward its research activities to develop programs to protect the natural resources of the country. According to conserve Forest and Rangeland ecosystem, some research topics such as faunistic studies, recognition of the ecological relationships between living and non-living components and management of pest and plant pathogens are listed as important titles of this department. In order to achieve these goals, various research projects have been implemented or are being implemented throughout the country. It is mentioned that the conservation and protection department as a headquarter institute of Iran, including many subdivided sections in different provinces which are doing their research under its revision.
